Set a New TSA Code on the Samsonite Image SuitcasesUpdated 4 days ago

Samsonite Image suitcases are equipped with a TSA-approved combination lock preset to 0‑0‑0. Follow the simple steps below to personalise your code.

What You’ll Need

  • A pen or pencil (preferably with a small tip)

  • A suitcase equipped with Lock Style 1 (look for a pin hole next to the dial)

Setting a New Code

Locate the pin hole adjacent to the dial. The lock is preset to 0‑0‑0 upon dispatch.

The pinhole is located below the numbers on the Samsonite Image suitcases - for the cabin, medium and large cases

For the front-access suitcase, the TSA lock is located at the top, but the pin hole layout is the same.Set the dials to 0‑0‑0, then slide the TSA button to release the zips.

With the lock open, press the pin hole firmly using the tip of your pen or pencil. You should feel or hear a slight click, indicating the reset mechanism is active.

While keeping the pin depressed, rotate the three dials to your preferred combination (e.g. 1‑1‑1).

Release the pin - you may hear another click—then slide the TSA lock button to secure your new code. Snap the zips back into the lock to complete the process.

Test Your New Combination

  • Scramble the dials.

  • Re-enter your new code (e.g. 1‑1‑1).

  • Slide the TSA button—and voilà, your suitcase should open.

  • If it doesn’t, repeat the reset process carefully.

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Always press the pin firmly and fully—an incomplete press may prevent reset.

  • Test the code before travelling to avoid lockouts at the airport.
